Our Story
Beneath the alpine peaks of Switzerland and within the hallowed halls of a renowned institute, my journey in the realm of hospitality management began. I soaked in all the lessons, skills, and theories, acquiring what would prepare me for my remarkable future journey. In due time, I completed my master’s degree and embarked on an astonishing quest to transform the hospitality sector.
I spent 20 exciting years crisscrossing Europe and North America, amassing rich experience and meeting numerous fascinating people. I worked with illustrious brands – Marriott, Westin, Hilton – and contributed to managing opulent four-diamond resorts and a posh casino hotel. Every stint, every challenge, honed my skills and bolstered my love for the hospitality industry.
Nevertheless, beneath all the gloss and extravagance, a harsh truth lurked. It was disheartening to learn that the industry, where I invested my life and career, contributed significantly to the environmentally destructive plastics ending up in our oceans each year. Guilt clenched my heart, and I sank into an existential crisis. Then, against the backdrop of the unforgettable year of 2020, an idea ignited within me, a lifeline that could potentially lead towards a solution.
I began to share my concerns and thoughts with my wife, whose encouragement and support became my mainstay in these challenging times. Together, we mulled over the idea of launching a hotel linen business. Yet, we yearned for it to be different – it had to be green, sustainable, and eco-friendly by introducing 100% organic top of bed collection and Plastic-free hotel amenities, first of its kind in North America. Our ambition extended beyond financial gain; we dreamt of becoming a green hotel supplier for North America and, hopefully, the globe.
The first brand we hoped to cater to as suppliers was the Westin, a hotel brand that remained dear to my heart due to my longstanding association. We started off with a dream. We blended it with an industry’s need for green solutions, seasoned it with our dedication and undying enthusiasm. Out of these, Empyrean INTL was born – a testament to our dream, our conviction, our commitment to sustainable hospitality management.
In the end, I did not just become an employee of the hospitality sector. I transformed into a dreamer, innovator, change-maker, and a conscientious citizen of the Earth. Our journey to transform the industry continues, but the first steps fill me with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and hope for a greener tomorrow.
